Disruption is a question of when, not if — a cyber incident, a supplier failure, a building lost. ISO 22301 is the international standard for business continuity management: knowing which activities matter most, how quickly they must resume, and having tested plans to make that happen. rameus solutions builds business continuity for Swiss organisations, integrated with your information security rather than bolted on beside it.
What ISO 22301 gives you
- A business impact analysis: what matters most and how fast it must recover
- Continuity strategies and plans for your priority activities
- Tested response and recovery, not untested documents
- The resilience customers, regulators and boards increasingly expect
Why it belongs with security
Cyber incidents are now a leading cause of disruption, so business continuity and information security work best together. An ISO 22301 programme built alongside your ISO 27001 ISMS shares risk assessments, governance and testing — and gives the board a single, coherent picture of resilience (see Cyber security for the board).
How rameus helps
- Run the business impact analysis and set recovery objectives
- Build continuity strategies, plans and the response structure
- Exercise and test the plans so they work under pressure
- Prepare for ISO 22301 certification and support you through the audit
Why rameus
Thomas Kempf is a certified ISO 22301 lead auditor (BSI) as well as ISO 27001, so resilience and security are built as one, by someone who audits both.
rameus solutions is the right partner when
you want to build business continuity management alongside information security — rather than as a separate project. ISO 22301 shares structural logic with ISO 27001, and we implement both in an integrated way that reduces documentation overhead and keeps ongoing management practical.
FAQ
Is ISO 22301 just disaster recovery?
No. IT disaster recovery is one part of it. ISO 22301 covers business continuity for the whole organisation: identifying the activities that matter most, deciding how quickly each must resume, and having tested plans that make that happen.
Where do we start with business continuity?
With a business impact analysis. It identifies your critical activities, the maximum time each can be down, and the resources they depend on. Everything else, the strategies, the plans and the tests, is built on what it tells you.
How is business continuity different from information security?
Information security protects your information from threats; business continuity keeps the organisation running when something disrupts it, whatever the cause, from a cyber incident to a supplier failure or a lost building. They overlap, and they are strongest when planned together on one ISO 27001 foundation.
Do the plans actually get tested?
Yes. Untested plans are the most common weakness we find. ISO 22301 requires exercises, and we run them so that your response and recovery work under real pressure, not only on paper.
Do we need to certify to ISO 22301, or just build the capability?
Both are valid. Some organisations pursue certification because a customer, regulator or tender requires the assurance; others want the resilience without the certificate. We build the management system either way, and take you through certification only when it earns its place.
How long does it take to put business continuity in place?
It depends on the size of the organisation and the number of critical activities, but a workable first version, business impact analysis, priority plans and an initial exercise, is typically a matter of months rather than weeks. Certification, where wanted, follows once the plans have been tested.
